Maxion SleepAid Extra helps to promote sleep and increase total sleep time as an aspect of sleep quality in people suffering from sleep restriction or altered sleep schedule. It helps to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep in people with delayed sleep phase syndrome and helps re-set the body's sleep-wake cycle.

Recommended Dose: Adults – Take 2 capsules once a day. Take with food 30 – 45 minutes before bedtime. Use for a minimum of 2 – 3 weeks to see beneficial effects. Consult a health care practitioner if sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 3 weeks.

Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you have scleroderma. Do not use if you are taking immunosuppressive drugs. Do not drive or use machinery for 5 hours after taking melatonin.
Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, or abdominal pain accompanied by sever muscle pain or if you experience skin changes.
Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery or driving a motor vehicle within 2 hours of consumption.
Consumption with alcohol, other drugs or natural health products with sedative properties is not recommended.

Prior to use if you have a hormonal disorder, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, migraine, depression and/or hypertension or if you are taking blood pressure or sedative/hypnotic medications.

Prior to use if you are taking carbidopa or drugs/supplements with serotonergic activity. These may include but not limited to; L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John’s wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over the counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication.
